Meet Nigel, our valued customer and epic adventurer. It's fair to say Nigel enjoys a challenge, especially when it's for a good cause. Here's Nigel's story so far...
Last February Nigel Jennison started cycling the Wild Atlantic Way, from Kinsale in the south of Ireland. He used a Brompton folding bike, carried all his camping gear and used a wax cotton poncho, which did a great job of keeping him warm and dry. After about 1200km he finished in Galway, so this year he's just set off to do the second half, from Galway to Derry, about another 1300km. However, this time he's using a different bicycle, a 1986 Dawes Super Galaxy, and a different poncho, one of ours!
Nigel wanted a brightly coloured poncho so that drivers could see him more easily. It also had to be large size as he's 190cm/6' 3" tall. He was also delighted with the front pocket of the Bicycle Collective poncho, which he said was a real game changer as it's brilliant for keeping his tickets, passport, cash, etc.
The Wild Atlantic Way is noted for it's wind and rain, so the next few weeks will be a great test for our poncho! He's promised to keep us posted!
Nigel is fundraising for UNICEF's global programmes to improve children's lives everywhere. If you would like to recognise his efforts his Just Giving page can be found here.
